(An unfounded belief or the essential legacy of life?)
By: The Guides
Do you believe that immortality in the flesh is a possibility? Did it ever come into your mind that a physical body can be retained so long as the spirit desires its use? Will the body have perpetual youth with ever increasing strength and vigor as the years go on?
In this realm of relativity, whatever you believe becomes your reality.
Physical immortality is indeed both a journey and a destination. It all depends upon your own consciousness that is vitiated on free choice. That's how creativity works in your present domain.
While it is true that you have all the power to create whatever you desire in this life, it all depends upon your own choice that is reflective of your present level of consciousness. Even if you are aware that a possibility exists, you cannot choose it if you don't believe it to be so.
It's hard to believe something you don't know (beyond what you are conscious about), unless you have strong faith. Moreover, this becomes reinforced if what you know drawn from actual experience and observation contradicts to what you are supposed to believe. Example, how can anyone nurture the idea that the body is immortal if by just looking around he sees people getting old, sick, weak and dying?
This is the core power of illusion over man. It portrays a reality on the basis of what one perceives to be true. That's why it is very easy to destroy the very foundation of any belief system. Just by a mere change of perception.
If you want to change your experience, change what you are being.
The possibility must come in accordance with the law that every demand or desire of humanity must be supplied by the Source. Your present consciousness appreciates more than ever the value of living in the physical.
There is now an earnest desire for unity of spirit and matter. More of you now see the greater possibilities of life. That's why you now demand for a longer and a more perfect physical life. Such desire is slowly shaping a new wave of consciousness among you.
The body will eventually grow to this desired result through a gradual process of change. It will culminate in a series of physical transformation that will further refine the matter so that it can readily adopt its much sentient spiritual essence. There is no doubt that these processes do not necessarily retain the body a person may have now. They retain "a body", and an ever changing and more refined body.
As you very well know, any healing process comes of a spiritual orientation, the aim of which is to reconstruct the physical body, first in the cleansing of old elements, and second in the receiving of new ones. All processes of physical change commence in the spiritual level - beingness.
In absolute reality, your physical immortality, which is the essential legacy of life that is prevailing in your spirit nature, has always been operating in your system.
All sickness is an effort of the spirit to cast off old and relatively dead matter. With their accompanying pain and discomfort, this intent or spiritual process has been recognized and feared by your race as a signal or approach of death.
In the absence of knowledge of spiritual law, and judging the process on material level, the temporary and necessary weakness of the body accompanying the process has been considered as natural destiny of the temporal body - which it is not meant to last forever. Such belief has been deeply pronounced into the consciousness of humanity, and the Source acting on its divine desire simply delivered what was desired - a physical body that is ageing, shriveling, weakening, and finally perishing. What you asked is what you get.
Your body is continually changing its elements in accordance with the condition of the mind. In certain mental conditions, it is adding to itself elements of decay, weakness and physical death; in another mental condition, it is adding to itself elements of strength, life and perpetual life.
In relative parlance, the spirit takes on either case your prevailing thoughts or beliefs. Your thoughts and beliefs manifest themselves in flesh and blood. Belief in inevitable decay and death brings from the spirit to the body the elements of decay and death. Belief in the possibility of everlasting life brings physical immortality.
If new life is being added unto you, there must also be an accompanying throwing off of the old or relatively dead cells of the body, just as when and influx of new life comes to the tree in the spring it casts off the dead leaves which may have clung to it all winter.
This spiritual law works in all forms and organizations of the cruder form of spirit you call "matter." In the human being this influx of force is greater than in the lower forms of life. It does not flow equally to all human beings. Some receive more than others. But in the course of advancement men and women are to come who will receive so much of this influx as to be obliged to see these further possibilities of existence, and also to realize them.
When new ideas or thoughts are received by your soul, your lower self or material mind often contests them against. The body becomes the arena between these two forces, and therefore suffers. As your minds come to trust even to a small extent in the Divine Source and entertain the idea that physical disease and physical death are not absolute necessities, the spirit eventually prevails. Some old error will be cast out; some new idea will come to stay; the body will be better and stronger after each succeeding struggle, and these struggles will also gradually become less and less severe, until they cease altogether.
Some of you may be so mentally constitute that you cannot now believe it. Yet there are many things to be in the future which none of you have now the power to believe. Just look around.
Actually you can change your belief if the thing deemed impossible is really that desirable. Your faith, which is a tool of spirit, shall give you a reason for believing, and such faith will come in response to the desire.
Faith means power to believe in the absolute truth. When you have faith in your desire that now seem new and strange; you demand, also, the power and ability to draw to you the capacity to see or feel reasons for truths new to you. If you demand persistently the truth and only the truth you will get it.
If you hold to the idea that mankind are always to go on as in the past, losing their bodies, and are also to remain without the power to keep those bodies in perfect health, then you set your belief against the eternal fact that all things in this planet are ever moving forward to greater refinement, greater powers, and greater possibilities - EVOLVING.
It is very desirable for the spirit to be able to keep a physical body, which shall refine as the spirit refines, because in such equality of refinement between the spirit and its instrument, you increase your chance of experiencing harmony, prosperity, immortality, and wisdom. It's ideal; therefore, that spirit and matter get unified.
In stating that immortality in the flesh is a possibility, we do not infer that it is one which any now, physically alive, may realize. Neither do we infer it is one they cannot realize. Nor do we argue that people should immediately set to work in any material sense in order to "live forever." We hold only that it is one result, which must come sooner or later of that spirit evolution or growth from the cruder to the finer, which has always been operating on this planet and on every form of matter.
Matter is spirit temporarily materialized so as to be evident to correspondent physical sense. If you only dare read between the lines, and remember who you really are, your choice of an everlasting physical body becomes imminent.
